What is Seattle Strong?
"Seattle Strong" is a partnership between OneWorld Now! and President Obama's 100,000 Strong Initiative.Since 2002, OneWorld Now! (OWN) has been developing the next generation of global leaders through critical language classes, leadership training and study abroad opportunities for underrepresented youth. For more information please visit www.oneworldnow.org.

Citing the importance of U.S.-China relations, President Barack Obama launched the "100,000 Strong" Initiative through the State Department in 2010 to dramatically increase the number of American students studying abroad in China. In addition to increasing the overall number of students who go to China, the Initiative also seeks to develop specific opportunities and funding sources for underrepresented students to study in China. The 100,000 Strong Initiative is a public-private partnership; to date, private corporate and foundation donors have pledged almost $10 million towards the Initiative.
